About the Junior Lifeguard Program
The city of Imperial Beach Junior Lifeguard Program is a comprehensive training program designed to teach the youth in our community about respect and appreciation of the ocean environment, how to build self esteem and leadership skills, basic life saving skills, physical fitness, water safety, and ocean awareness. The children will be participating in a variety of activities including competitions, swimming, surfing, body boarding, beach games, and we will have guest speakers from different specialties that pertain to the ocean. Also, they will be introduced to the profession of lifeguarding by being exposed to the equipment and by getting safety lectures from our lifeguarding staff.
